TRINITAS AUXILIARY INSTALLS NEW CHAIR
Newly-installed Chair Promotes Interest in Group's Activities

At a luncheon held at the Suburban Golf Club, Jackie Perger of Union was recently installed as the new Chairperson of Trinitas Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, taking over the leadership role from fellow Union resident Liz Weishapl. Jackie, the Auxiliary's immediate past Second Vice Chair, has nearly a decade of volunteering under her belt with six years at Trinitas and three years previously at Union Hospital.

Jackie, who brings strong organizational and leadership skills to the Auxiliary, plans to direct efforts that will continue to support Trinitas and its service to the community. "The Auxiliary will maintain current successful programs," explains Jackie, "and we hope to increase membership through outreach to the communities that Trinitas serves."

A veteran Auxilian, Liz Weishapl served the Auxiliary for more than 35 years and she will continue to serve as Vendor Chair. She has successfully recruited and retained vendors to conduct fundraising sales at Trinitas, proceeds of which have helped the Auxiliary in its support of Trinitas. She has also successfully arranged bus trips and special events for Auxilians and the general public. "I love every minute of my volunteer work with the Auxiliary, and I look forward to helping Jackie in her new role as Chairperson," says Liz.

The new slate of officers of the Auxiliary's Board of Trustees include: Sister Clare Maureen Tracy, 1st Vice Chair; Frank Weishapl, 2nd Vice Chair; Terry Hauser, Corresponding Secretary; Margaret Robinson, Recording Secretary, and Allan Schuhmann, Treasurer.

At the Suburban Golf Club luncheon, Bette Weiss, the Auxiliary's former Corresponding Secretary, was honored for her 30 years of volunteer service including Auxiliary membership at Elizabeth General Medical Center and Trinitas. Josephine "Jo" DeSimone was also honored for her 25 years of service to both St. Elizabeth Hospital and Trinitas. Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Roslyn Schwartzberg, Allan Schuhmann, Margaret Robinson, Frank Spital, Sr. Clare Maureen Tracy and Liz Weishapl.
