Helping You Help Yourself
We're happy to announce that our first-ever Trinitas Hospital/Lions
Health Fair was a resounding success. Held on Saturday, April 17, 2004 hundreds of
local residents participated in such services as vision screenings, hearing
screenings, etc.
For children, we also had an educational Lead Testing Van (featuring "Leadie
Eddie"), gross motor skill assessments, information on the
WIC Nutrition
Program as told by puppets, and fingerprint identification kits and
information.
Literature provided included breast cancer information, financial
information pertaining to health care services, child care information,
nutritional information, smoking cessation information, CPR and Safe-Sitter
information, hospice care information, alcohol and drug abuse information,
domestic violence information and brochures on the services provided by
Trinitas' Volunteer Services Department.
Healthy, light refreshments were provided, as was free parking for the
event. For entertainment, the 101.5 FM music van was on site, giving
attendees and those of us running the event lots of great music to help make
the event more enjoyable.
Trinitas would like to thank everyone who attended, and everyone who helped
provide information and screening services. Finding out what may be wrong
with you, at the earliest stages, is the first and most important step in
eliminating or treating diseases and disorders that, if left unattended,
could have life-threatening or debilitating effects.
