Some Library Myths

|
All information is available on the internet
Yes, there is a lot of information "out there" in cyberspace but don't
expect to find full text books and journals.
|

|
Everything is free on the internet
There is a lot of free information on the internet, but most high quality or
full-text information must be purchased. Many times users must subscribe to
the site or to the journal before full-text or full access is allowed.
|

|
Its easy to find information on the internet
Finding information is easy, but finding high quality, reliable, useful
information is much harder. Remember, no one oversees the internet, and
there are no uniform standards. This is why its important for the Library to
have authoritative resources such as, books, current journals, and
subscribed databases
