Trinitas Hospital and Kean University Unite to Offer EPIC program
Kean University's Health EPIC program gave Essex and Union County high school students insight into nursing careers, thanks to a partnership with Trinitas Hospital. The program offered an overview of the role and nature of nursing in the hospital setting, the preparation involved and the professional requirements. Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist Debbie Durand, Director of Nursing Mary McTigue, Human Resources Nurse Recruiter Beverly Porter, and Trinitas School of Nursing faculty member Rosemary Byrne welcomed and addressed the students. New graduate nurses, recently hired at Trinitas, shared their experiences as both students and new nurses. The group also toured the hospital.
