Explaining Hospital Billing
Trinitas Regional Medical Center is prepared to bill your insurance carrier for services provided.

We do anticipate, however, during this period of health care reform that many questions surrounding coverage for those patients insured through managed care companies will arise. Most of these types of plans stipulate that elective or non-emergency admissions be pre-certified by telephone prior to the admission and that emergency admissions be certified within 24 hours of treatment.

We strongly suggest that you review the terms of your coverage prior to entering the hospital so as to eliminate possible penalties.

Our Patient Accounting Department is prepared to address any questions you may have regarding our bills. They may be contacted during business hours at 908-994-5839.

When You're Leaving
When you are ready to go home, your physician will write a discharge order on your medical record and discuss your release and follow-up treatment with you. Prior to your discharge, you may be visited by a member of the Social Services Department who will assist you in anticipating your needs after you have been discharged.

If you have questions regarding your needs at home, please call extension 5136 to request the assistance of a social worker. Our clinical specialists are also available to answer questions regarding your recovery from illness or injury and may be contacted through the Nursing Office at extension 5362.

On the day you are scheduled to go home, please plan to leave within 2 hours of your discharge. Family and friends who are picking you up are asked to enter the hospital and go directly to the Cashier's Office. If you are going home alone, please make arrangements to pay any outstanding television and telephone charges before you leave.

After you are discharged, the hospital will mail you an invoice for outstanding bills. If you should have any questions about your bill, please call the Hospital Credit Department at 908-994-5167.
