Trinitas Regional Medical Center's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center is
designed to provide the community with a facility that provides a range of
therapeutic exercise, fitness and wellness programs under one roof. We offer
cardiac, pulmonary and diabetic rehabilitation, outpatient physical,
occupational and speech therapies and supervised fitness training. Our
skilled staff is available to you whether you are recovering from a medical
condition or you want to simply exercise to stay fit. Our 7,000 sq. ft.
Center offers an environment in which you may attain your optimal health,
regardless of any limiting medical conditions.
The Center's equipment has been specifically selected to enable everyone,
from cardiac patients to athletes, to exercise together safely within the
limits of their abilities. This equipment includes individual weight
stations, treadmills, stationary bicycles, rowing machines, Nordic Track,
Stairmasters, elliptical trainers and Olympic-style free weights. A highly
trained, multilingual staff of physical, occupational and speech therapists
and fitness professionals design individual programs to meet the needs and
goals of every client.
Diabetic Rehabilitation
Trinitas Regional Medical Center's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center staff works
closely with the Hospital's Diabetes Management Center and your physician to
assist you with your basic exercise needs.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Your physician will determine when you are ready to participate in the
Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. This individually designed,
comprehensive therapeutic exercise program also provides you with
counseling, educational and nutritional services. The program will help you
decrease the risk factors of cardiac disease and restore you to the best
possible health. A collaborative team of professionals helps you and your
family make the lifestyle changes necessary for a better quality of life.
The Phase 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation Program usually lasts for a period of 12
weeks; the optional Maintenance program is available based on your progress
in Phase 2.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation
After your physician determines the need for pulmonary rehabilitation,
he/she must write an order for the process to begin, Trinitas Regional Medical Center's
rehabilitative staff develops a structured, individualized program to meet
the goals within your physical limitations. This may involve exercise,
education and counseling.
Therapies
Trinitas Regional Medical Center's therapy outpatients receive their care in the Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation Center. The Center incorporates all the basic
therapies-physical, occupational and speech therapy. Our staff of therapy
professionals is licensed by the State of New Jersey. All our services work
closely with your physician to insure a level of coordination of your
specific program to meet your specific goals.

Physical Therapy may include orthopedic or neurological therapy, pain
management, functional training, balance retraining, strengthening,
endurance, flexibility lymphedema management and treatment for incontinence.

electrical stimulation, ultrasound and strength and endurance training is
available on the premises. You will use the main fitness area under the
direction of your therapist. As you progress, you will eventually be allowed
to use the equipment on your own, under our supervision.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy offers activities of daily living training, hand
therapy, ergonomic evaluation and adaptive equipment instruction. We provide
training to help family members assist you in your daily activities. We are
also qualified to design and fabricate specialized splints.
Speech Therapy/Audiology

language skills as well as feeding and swallowing skills. We also provide
